Heartbeat (Loki x sick!Reader)p1

A/N: This is set after Thor the Dark World. Part of it is set when Thor is talking to "Odin" at the end of the movie. Aannnnnd I pulled another Stan Lee ^^' I just can't help it.

Thor knelt before his father solemnly while the older man processed the fact that his son had refused the throne. "Loki for all that's brave and balanced understood rule the way I know I never would. And the brutality of sacrifice, it changes you. I'd rather be a good man than a great king." Odin was a bit taken aback by his eldest son's remark. "Is this my son speaking, or the woman he loves?" Thor gave his father a small scowl. "Loki was in love with a wonderful woman who had made him a better man. That was before you forbayed him to ever see her again for the same reason that you dislike Jane, because she's mortal." Odin's eye widened gradually and he had to take a breath before continuing. "And this woman. Where is she now?"

Thor frowned at the question. "She is confined to a Midguardian healer's building, or as they call it a 'hospital', due to a grave illness that the Midguardians have no cure for. I was told this by her close friend Serenity who is better known as Cobalt, an Avenger. She said that it was a very severe form of this illness but (y/n) has stayed strong in the battle with the virus because of her love for Loki." This truly shocked Odin and he appeared to be on the verge of tears. Not that Thor noticed. The older man took a few moments to think of what to say. "Does she know yet of Loki's death?" At this Thor's somber expression deepened as he nodded slightly. "I have notified Serenity and she has most likely delivered the news. Why do you ask father?" Thor looked up to his father with a questioning glance.

"I just am curious about this woman my youngest son came to love." Odin replied as Thor stood. "She is a fine warrior in her own way with someone worth fighting for. Hearing the news of my brother's death will surely devestate her." Thor said before turning around. "I must take my leave now father, thank you for understanding." And with that Odin was left standing alone as he let his facade fall in a shimmering wall of green as he slumped into the throne he stole. "(y/n). Why must this happen to her? Why?" Odin, now Loki, uttered as a single tear ran down his face. An idea came to the fallen prince. He would visit his true love on Midguard. He just needed a good disguise.

------------ to Serenity and (y/n) -----------------

Serenity stood in her best friend's hospital room and looked at the woman who she had grown up with as the bald beauty slept peacefully. She hated the fact that she had to relay such horrible news that would bring (y/n)'s whole world crashing down around her. The once (h/c) haired girl stirred in her sleep causing Serenity to snap out of her reverie. "Oh, hey Seri!" (y/n) chirped cheerfully as her (e/c) orbs landed on her naturally blond and blue haired friend. Serenity sighed at the happy and innocent look on (y/n)'s face. "Hey (y/n)." she replied softly as she sat in a nearby chair. This news was going to be very difficult to relay. "So, what brings the mighty Cobalt here?" (y/n) stated playfully. Serenity took a deep breath and let it out slowly.

"It's about Loki..."
